On March 27th, James will perform as part of a special event hosted by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. The event previews a new network series: Titanic marking the 100th anniversary of the ship's disaster. The evening will be held at the Jane Hotel, in the same room where many of the Titanic's survivors undertook an emotional memorial service shortly after their arrival in New York. James will sing the moving hymn "Nearer My God to Thee".

James had a wonderful time yesterday evening performing a program of Schubert and Schumann which included Dichterliebe, a work which grows closer to James' heart with every reading. Partnering with Michael Sheetz at the piano, the program was punctuated with readings by WQXR announcer Midge Woolsey. The event was hosted in the beautiful home of Susan Burden and was a wonderful success. James donated his contribution for this performance, which was an annual fundraiser for Musica Sacra, one of New York City's leading choral organizations, lead by Kent Tritle.
